Hull is well known for its sporting setup and also many exciting venues on offer. The main one being football of course and this comes under Hull City Football Club. They are nicknamed the tigers and at time of writing play their football in the championship. They have been in the premiership on and on and off basis but seem to get relegated. Their home stadium is the KC Stadium. This stadium was completed in 2002 and has a capacity of well over twenty six thousand. Owned by the Council, there might be further plans to extend the seating capacity at a later date. Its main stands are the Forest Pines Hotel West Stand, MKM South Stand, Smith and Nephew North Stand. Tickets can be purchased for games on a regular basis and the stadium also hosts many rugby matches as well. For a sporting venue with a standard seating capacity, the KC Stadium is an impressive landmark for Hull.
Rugby League is also massive in the whole region of Hull and some might say even more so than football. There are two rugby teams namely Hull who play at the KC Stadium and also Hull Kingston Rover who play their games at Craven Park. There are also many other teams who play in lower leagues.
